Practicing In The Areas Of Estate Planning And Employee Benefits

Education & Experience

Janel C. Frank practices in the areas of estate planning and employee benefits.  Janel has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Dickinson State University, where she graduated summa cum laude.  She is a graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law, graduating with distinction in 2003.  Janel received her LL.M. in tax from Georgetown University Law Center in 2009, where she earned a Certificate in Employee Benefits and was recognized as a Graduate Tax Scholar.  Janel is also a certified public accountant.   Since 2003, Janel has worked at three different law firms, practicing in the areas of Estate Planning, Employee Benefits, Tax, Probate, and Nonprofits.

Janel combines her tax expertise with her experience in estate planning and employee benefits to help her clients clarify and carry out their important goals and objectives.   She provides a personal touch for her estate planning clients; helping them clearly identify their testamentary intent, understand how their estate plan will affect their family and loved ones, and plan to reduce potential tax liability, including estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax liability.

In her employee benefits practice, Janel assists employers and others to resolve complex questions and issues in the areas of ERISA, Health Care Reform, welfare benefit plans, cafeteria plans, HRAs, COBRA, qualified retirement plans, deferred compensation plans, and others.  Janel’s objective for her employee benefits clients is to simplify the complex and help her clients minimize the risk of non-compliance.
